Adsense - What it is and how it can make you money

In 2003 Google released its own version of a pay per click advertising called adsense. Adsense was truly remarkable because it was not a banner or graphic based advertisement, and it was able to display ads based on your web page’s content.

Website owners started signing up for the Google pay per click program, and started placing these pay per click advertisements called Adsense on their websites. For a lot of these people they were almost instantly making money from these ads.

So why was Googles Adsense pay per click program so successful?

Well what made adsense so successful was that it was unique in 2 ways. You see the problem with banners, and graphical ads is that people are just so used to seeing them that they tend to ignore or overlook these types of ads.

With google’s pay per click adsense ads they were just plain text. When placed on one’s webpage they blended in with the other content of that page and looked like natural links, this proved to be far more effective than graphical based advertisements.

The second reason that Google Adsense ads were such a popular hit and was such a huge success is because the ads were designed to fit each individual web page. Let me explain what I mean.

The way adsense displays advertisements is that the coding behind the ads will analyze and read the content of your web page. It will find and categorize different keywords within your web page content. Then based on the keywords it finds it will deliver ads that are relevant to the content on that particular web page.

Even today Adsense is responsible for making a lot of people thousands and even hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, Over the years people have been able to master the techniques it takes to make the big bucks with adsense.

This pay per click program is absolutely free to sign up with, and is available to anybody. Once you have registered for the program you can then start designing and making ads for your website(s). Once you have finished the designing google will give you a simple bit of code that you paste onto your webpage and that’s it.

A word of caution though, before placing any ads on your website, be sure to read the adsense rules, and policies. Google is VERY strict when it comes to breaking the rules, once your account is suspended you very rarely ever get it back. On top of that you can never create another account.
